LONG TIME, NO BLOG. But there’s a raft of interesting stuff happening. Today, in deciding an appeal brought by Verizon, the federal Circuit Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit ruled that the vile DCMA did not authorize the RIAA to subpoena subscriber information from ISPs. The opinion is here. Sidenote: the opinion was written by Judge Ginsburg, he who withdrew his Supreme Court nomination in 1987 when it came to light that he smoked pot with students while a Harvard professor.

TMQ IS BACK! So ESPN fired Gregg Easterbrook for thoughtless comments (not made on ESPN, of course), and we were without Tuesday Morning Quarterback for several weeks. Turns out the NFL Network picked him up–the new link is back on the side menu.

So much easier to post this little bit of news rather than compose the long and thoughtful dissection of Darl McBride’s recent letter regarding why SCO thinks the Linux GPL is not just bad for business, but unconstitutional. I swear, I’ll get to it.
