merry xmas and all that
Friday, December 24th, 2004WOW. A MONTH BETWEEN POSTS. There are a few distinct reasons for this (my lack of blogginess). First, I’m just entirely happy at work. I look forward to going to work, I work productively once I arrive, and near the end of the day, Brooks, boss Jim and I take turns walking around the office saying “well, what a fun day we just had!” So without work being something to suffer through each day (and thus to make pass more quickly with websurfing and blogging) the days fly by, with no time to blog.
Second, (and these are in no particular order) I’ve been playing World of Warcraft, which is enormously fun and is everything Everquest should have been, but wasn’t. Brooks is playing too, which always makes things more fun. I’ll say no more for fear of further revealing my geekiness. [Oh, wait: I have a blog.]
Last, things remain great at home with uber-sweetie Trina. The trauma in our lives, though, has been our bed. We spent too much a year and a half ago on a fancy high-end plush-top mattress. which started breaking down noticeably within the first year. Then one day we forgot to lock the Brown Dog out of our bedroom while we were gone during the day, and she tore up the top of the mattress. Yay: separation anxiety. Apparently she missed us and thought if she could just dig through the top of the mattress, she might find us. So the damage to the top of the mattress hurt the structure of the mattress further, and it has been unsleepable for the past couple of months, at least for two people. So, our sleep patterns have been disrupted, and our inability to sleep together comfortably damages our overall closeness. The good news is that this last week we ordered a new latex orthopedic mattress from Mulligan Mattresses (do a google search for “Willamette Week” and “Best Place to Get Laid”), which will arrive soon.
Life is good, so less blogging. Draw your own conclusions. Ho ho ho.
